Our Story
From man in a van to man on a mission
The Lawnkeeper story begins in earnest back in 1999, when Sam Langrick took over the turf laying company he worked for, and spotted that there was huge potential in caring for grass lawns rather than just laying them. It was clear to him just how much homeowners valued having beautiful, well-kept lawns, and how often they struggled to find the time to look after them as well as they should. On top of that, there were very few companies offering a specialist service on the level that customers were looking for.
Wanting to tap into this opportunity by taking advantage of the new equipment and treatments that were becoming available on the market, Sam pivoted the company towards this new customer base and Lawnkeeper was born. Starting out with just a single van and a small number of local customers, his reputation for providing fantastic results at an affordable price soon earned him a stellar reputation.
Unlike many competitors, Sam also prided himself on the long-term relationships of trust, friendliness and reliability he built with his customers. Word spread, and business soon snowballed with customer referrals and recommendations flooding in.
As Lawnkeeper continued to grow at an exciting rate, Sam soon realised his business had the potential to achieve so much more. While he was rapidly taking on new staff to meet demand, he came to believe that the business model he had developed could be replicated elsewhere in the UK with the same success, and opened Lawnkeeper as a franchise opportunity in 2007.
Lawnkeeper now operates right across the UK, with franchises spanning from Aylesbury to Airedale, and from Worcester to Peterborough. We are currently looking for even more highly motivated individuals to help us expand the franchise into territories throughout the country.
